More Facts About Insulated Concrete Forms:
TheFire rated - The ICF system is flame retardant. The six-inch wall provides a three-hour plus protection. The ignition temperature is higher than that of conventional framing and provides a flame spread index of 25 or less and a smoke development of 450 or less when tested under ASTM E84.
The home is air tight leading to less allergy problems - The ICF system that we have chosen to use in our homes features a tongue and groove joint assembly on the expanded polystyrene forms that minimizes thermal heat transfer. With the addition of an air exchanger and filter, the home will be 96 to 98% dust, allergen and pollution free.
The home is sound proofed from the outside - The system provides sound insulation at 53dB+ with the six-inch application. In conjunction with high quality windows, this far exceeds anything else being offered on the market at this time.
Mold issues limited - In conjunction with the steel interior framing and roof trusses any mold issues will be limited.
